Supercritical Fluid Extraction Process

Supercritical Fluid Extraction (SFE) uses carbon dioxide as a solvent under high pressure to extract a plant’s essence. SFE is the most advanced and environmentally friendly process available for providing our clients the finest, cleanest and highest quality extract. The carbon dioxide under high pressure turns to liquid and dissolves the extract of the plant into it. The carbon dioxide is then returned to a gaseous state under reduced pressure, and it leaves behind the extract. This process is gentler on the plant samples and results in fresher, crisper and more potent extracts with a stronger aroma.
